It's an intentional geeky misspelling. L33t speak, technically, derived from common typing mistakes when people are attemping to type at high speed during online multiplayer shoot 'em up games, where slow typers get their brains blown to bits as punishment for their lack of vigilance. :) PWN is an even better smackdown than OWN, appearantly. I caught onto it on YTMND.com.
